A Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server handles the delivery of outgoing emails. By configuring a Custom SMTP server in Frontman, you can leverage your own email provider's infrastructure for sending emails, removing restrictions associated with third-party services.

How to Connect Gmail for SMTP

First, set up POP in Gmail

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.

  2. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

  3. In the "POP download" section, select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.

  4. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.

    • Preview Text: A short snippet displayed alongside the email subject line in previews. (e.g., "You have a new message")

    • Mail From: The email address used to send emails from Frontman.

    • Server: The hostname or IP address of your email provider's SMTP server.

    • Login: The username for your email account.

    • Password: The password for your email account.

    • Port: The port number used by your email provider's SMTP server (typically 465).
