# Audience

Audience Manager is a tool that empowers you to create and manage segments of your active users. These segments, or audiences, are defined by a combination of user attributes, allowing you to target specific demographics or user behaviors for marketing campaigns and content personalization.

### **User Attributes: Building Blocks of Audiences**

Audience Manager leverages two types of user attributes to define your audiences:

1. **System-Generated Attributes:** These attributes are automatically collected by the platform and provide insights into user behavior. Examples include last login time, device type (mobile, desktop, tablet), and user location (city, country).
2. **Custom User Attributes:** Businesses can define custom attributes specific to their user interactions. These attributes can be anything from user-selected preferences within a dialogue flow to purchase history.
