Active Users

Understanding "Active Users"

"Active Users" represent users who have demonstrably engaged with our platform within a given timeframe (typically a month). This metric focuses on user actions that indicate interaction and value derived from the product.

Methodology

A user is considered "active" if they perform one or both of the following actions within a month:

  • Sending a message: This signifies initiating communication within the platform.

  • Receiving a message: This indicates active participation in conversations on the platform.

Important Note: A user is counted only once per month, regardless of the number of messages sent or received. This prevents duplicate counting and provides a clearer picture of user engagement.

Example:

Let's say a user sends 10 messages and receives 20 messages in a month. They would still be counted as just one active user.

Growth Tracking:

We utilize the percentage change over a previous period (e.g., month-over-month) to track growth in active users. In the example provided (3vs0 = +300%), this signifies a significant increase (300%) in active users compared to the previous period (where there were 0 active users).
