A Zapier plugin card is a connection between two or more apps that automates a task. A Zapier plugin card can be helpful if inserted in Journey because it can allow you to trigger actions in other apps based on events in WhatsApp or vice versa.
Using Zapier Card In Journey
Add a Zapier card to the journey whose data you want to store under Zap and later on perform an action as desired.
Your Zapier card might be inactive. Follow the steps below to activate and store the attributes.
Creating Account on Zapier
Make an account on .
You'll see a workspace as shown in the image below.
Create Zaps (Trigger)
Head over to Create and tap Zaps.
Tap trigger, search and tap on Chatman.
On the left hand side, under app and event, choose an event. Tap below to see explanation of use case of each one of them.
Different Event Explained
Contact Completed Journey: This event triggers when a contact finishes a journey in your Chatman account. You can use this event to trigger actions based on the completion of a journey, such as sending a follow-up email, updating a spreadsheet, or creating a task.
Contact Started Journey: This event triggers when a contact starts a journey in your Chatman account. You can use this event to trigger actions based on the initiation of a journey, such as sending a welcome message, adding a tag, or assigning a score.
Custom Event Triggered: This event triggers when a custom event is triggered in your Chatman account. You can use this event to trigger actions based on any condition or logic that you define, such as sending a notification, creating a record, or calling a webhook.
Export via Zapier : Send Attributes: This event triggers when the Export via Zapier card runs in the conversational flow in your Chatman account. The Export via Zapier card allows you to send user-defined and system attributes to Zapier. You can use this event to trigger actions based on the attributes that you send, such as creating a contact, updating a CRM, or sending a personalized message.
New Contact Added: This event triggers when a new contact is added in your Chatman account. You can use this event to trigger actions based on the addition of a new contact, such as sending a welcome email, adding them to a list, or enrolling them in a journey.
For instance we select Export via Zapier: Send Attributes.
Once you have selected an attribute tap 'Continue.'
Now under account 'choose an account' with which you want the Chatman to get connected with Zapier and tap 'continue.'
Now select a journey whose customer attributes you want to store and tap 'continue.' For eg: Welcome_Email.
Now under 'Test', tap 'test your trigger.'
You'll get a list of attributes and beside that it's data will be shown. Tap 'find new record' if you think data has not been updated.
Now tap continue with selected record.
Create Zaps (Action)
You'll now be redirected to the action page, select an app where you want to send those data. For eg: Lets' select 'Mailchimp.'
You can select any application of your choice where you want the action to get triggered.
Select an event, for eg: Add/Update subscriber and tap 'continue.'
Different Events Explained
Custom Actions (Beta): This event allows you to create a new action using AI. You can specify the input fields, output fields, and the logic of the action. This is a beta feature and may not work as expected.
Add Note to Subscriber: This event adds a new note to an existing subscriber in your MailChimp audience. You can use this to keep track of any information or feedback related to the subscriber.
Add Subscriber to Tag: This event adds an email address to a tag within an audience in your MailChimp account. Tags are labels that you can use to organize and segment your subscribers. Note: the email address must already be subscribed to the audience, or this will fail.
Add/Update Subscriber: This event adds a new subscriber to an audience of your choosing in your MailChimp account. You can also use this to update an existing subscriber’s information, such as name, address, or preferences.
Archive Subscriber: This event archives an existing subscriber in your MailChimp audience. Archiving a subscriber removes them from your active subscriber count, but keeps their data in your account. You can unarchive them later if needed.
Create Campaign: This event creates a campaign draft in your MailChimp account. A campaign is a message that you send to your subscribers, such as a newsletter, an announcement, or a promotion. You can customize the content, design, and settings of your campaign before sending it.
Create Custom Event: This event creates a custom event for an existing subscriber in your MailChimp audience. A custom event is a specific action that a subscriber takes, such as making a purchase, signing up for a webinar, or completing a survey. You can use custom events to trigger automations, segment your audience, or track your goals.
Create Tag: This event creates a new tag in your MailChimp account. A tag is a label that you can use to organize and segment your subscribers. You can assign tags to subscribers manually or automatically based on their behavior or profile data.
Remove Subscriber from Tag: This event removes an existing subscriber by email address from a tag within an audience in your MailChimp account. This can help you to update your subscriber’s interests, preferences, or status. Note: the email address must already be subscribed to the audience, or this will fail.
Send Campaign: This event sends a campaign draft in your MailChimp account. This action sends an email to everyone signed up to the campaign’s audience. Are you trying to send an email to just one person? Set up an automation within MailChimp and assign the welcome email to a tag. Then assign that tag to your customer with the Add Subscriber To Tag action.
Unsubscribe Email: This event unsubscribes an email address from an audience of your choosing in your MailChimp account. This removes the subscriber from your active subscriber count and prevents them from receiving any future emails from you. You can also delete the subscriber’s data from your account if you want.
API Request (Beta): This is an advanced event which makes a raw HTTP request that includes this integration’s authentication. You can use this to perform any action that is supported by the MailChimp API, such as creating, updating, or deleting resources. This is a beta feature and may not work as expected.
Find a Campaign: This event finds an existing campaign in your MailChimp account. You can search by campaign name, subject, or status. Optionally, you can create a campaign if none are found that match your criteria.
Find a Subscriber: This event searches for a new subscriber in your MailChimp audience. You can search by email address, name, or tag. Optionally, you can create a subscriber if none are found that match your criteria.
Find Customer: This event finds a customer by an email address in your MailChimp account. A customer is a subscriber who has made a purchase from your store or website. You can use this to access their order history, lifetime value, or product recommendations.
Find Tag: This event finds a tag in your MailChimp account. You can search by tag name or ID. Optionally, you can create a tag if none are found that match your criteria.
The fields might change according to the event selected.
Now under 'Action' drop-down, tap 'Audience' and select confidential.
Now add a subscriber email you want to subscribe to this audience. Here, makeroboschat@gmail.com is automatically captured from previous steps in Zap.
Remember don't type an email address in this field, instead this should use a value from a previous step in your Zap.
Enter details in all the field as required, once done, tap 'Continue.'
Under Test drop-down 'tap test.'
A notification pop-up appears displaying ' a subscriber was sent to mailchimp.'
Tap 'publish' to complete the action and get a preview of the same.
