# Using Amazon SNS in Journey

Using Amazon SNS in the journey is way too simple with Chatman. All you need is to just understand how things go on in the backend. Before we take a deep dive, here are just a few notable points:⠀⠀⠀⠀

* Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) is a messaging service that helps you deliver messages like alerts, tracking details, and more to customers in their journey via SMS.
* To use SNS in journeys, it's necessary to [integrate Amazon SNS with Chatman](/chatman-enterprise-whatsapp-platform/settings/external-protocols/applications/amazon-sns-sms.md).
* Mail card is used in journey to for creating a link between SNS and Chatman that delivers messages to customers.
